Suzy Levinson

Suzy Levinson is a children’s writer and poet. Growing up, she spent a lot of her time reading, dreaming, and making up weird songs on long, boring car rides. These days…well, she hasn’t changed much! She still loves playing with language and getting lost in a good story. Oh, and puns. She really likes puns.

Suzy has written poetry for numerous anthologies (from publishers including Bloomsbury, Macmillan, DK, and Pomelo Books) and magazines (including HighlightsCricket, the Caterpillar, and the School Magazine). Her debut picture book, ANIMALS IN PANTS (Cameron Kids/Abrams), hits shelves in 2023. She lives in New York with her husband and most excellent cat.

Suzy has been a proud member of 12×12 since 2014. While her original hope of writing twelve picture books in twelve months didn’t exactly pan out (understatement!!!), she’s gotten so much more from this incredible community than she ever could have imagined. Whether she’s felt discouraged, confused, or downright imposter-y, she’s always turned to this group for guidance, inspiration, and friendship. And thanks to her time as a 12×12 gold member, she signed with her awesome agent, too! Suzy is so happy to be giving a little back as a Rhyme Forum co-elf, doing two of her favorite things: obsessing over rhyme and super-obsessing over meter! Stop by anytime. 🙂
