Rachel Funez (she/her) is a part-time lawyer, full-time mom, and aspiring children’s author who loves mountain views, chocolate, travel, and walking her Bearded Collie. She spent much of her childhood as a Third Culture Kid (TCK) in Costa Rica, Peru, and Ecuador, and is now raising bicultural and (hopefully) bilingual children with her husband, a Honduran immigrant. Rachel loves to write stories that celebrate Latinx culture and reflect her TCK experience. A neurodiverse creator with lifelong ADHD and Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Rachel also hopes to write stories that help children and their parents (and herself) cope with anxiety in productive ways and find the beauty and humor in the chaos of childhood. As a member of the DEI committee, Rachel hopes to promote inclusion within the 12 x 12 community, connect with diverse writers, support them on their journeys, and continue promoting diverse stories in any way she can.
