A diary keeper, a journalism major, a public relations executive, now a children’s author—Lindsay Leslie has always operated in a world of written words. She likes to bring her unique outlook on life, quirky humor, and play with words to the page in picture books. Lindsay is the award-winning author of THIS BOOK IS SPINELESS (illustrated by Alice Brereton/Page Street Kids, Booklist starred review), NOVA THE STAR EATER (illustrated by John Taesoo KimPage Street Kids), DUSK EXPLORERS (illustrated by Ellen RooneyPage Street Kids, and SCBWI Crystal Kite Award winner, Kirkus starred review, Bank Street College of Education: Best Children’s Books of the Year 2021 with Outstanding Merit, and Amazon Editors’ Pick), and SO YOU WANT TO BUILD A LIBRARY (illustrated by Aviel Basiel/Capstone). Lindsay volunteers as the assistant regional advisor for the Austin chapter of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators. She has been a member of the 12X12 community since 2016. She loves being a ninja because giving back to the writing community really fills her bucket, and she loves to dig into critiques and help a story shine. She lives in Austin, Texas, with her husband (also a published novelist…checkout THE BETWEEN by Ryan Leslie, and the upcoming COLOSSUS in 2023), two fantastic kiddos, two fur-beasts, and a guinea pig.
