Chelsea Lin Wallace is an award-winning children’s author and poet with a master’s in education. When Chelsea was little, she would hide in her closet reading Shel Silverstein and write poems (mostly about goblins and eerie bugs.) She grew up and became an elementary school teacher where she inspired kids to express themselves creatively through stories and poetry. Connecting to kids through story has always been her specialty. While tutoring and taking care of her baby daughter, she studied the craft of picture books, formed a critique group, attended conferences, and joined SCBWI and the 12×12 Community where she has become a critique ninja.
She recently celebrated her debut, A HOME NAMED WALTER, illustrated by Ginnie Hsu, which released in April 2022 with Feiwel & Friends/Macmillan. She has several forthcoming picture books including ODE TO A BAD DAY (Hyewon Yum), A TRIP TO MISS PEATREE (Alison Ferrell), and DARE TO BE DARING (Lian Cho). She is rep’d by Jen Rofé at Andrea Brown Literary Agency. When Chelsea is not writing, she enjoys playing pickleball, staring at the ocean, and talking to geckos. She lives in Los Angeles, California with her husband, her daughter Charlee, and her dog, Lucky.
