Ginger Harris

A little bit about Ginger:

“Liza Fleissig and Ginger Harris-Dontzin opened the Liza Royce Agency (LRA) in early 2011. Ginger graduated from Boston University with a BA and Nova Southeaster University, Shepard Broad Law Center Law School with a JD, Ginger also brings 20 years of litigation and negotiating experience to the field. On the children’s side of publishing, being a mother to a preschooler boy, she is interested in everything from picture books, to middle grade and young adult.”

Here is what Ginger had to say when asked what she is looking for in picture books today:

“Can’t really advise on what I’m looking/not looking for — if a manuscript is clever and something/a story not really done before, that generally sparks my interest.”

Ginger has been a featured agent in previous years. Please see her previous profile posts HERE, HERE, HERE, and HERE.

Here’s a new resource for Ginger:

  • Ginger and her agency partner Liza Flessig work closely will reading submissions. It’s worth your time to read this interview with Liza on Kathy Temean’s blog from last October.

Agent Brent Taylor - Triada USA

Brent Taylor

A little bit about Brent:

“Brent Taylor is a literary agent and subsidiary rights manager at Triada US. He joined the agency in 2014 to build a list of picture books, middle grade, and YA. He is interested in fiction, non-fiction, and heavily illustrated projects. Find him online at btaylorbooks.com and on Twitter @btaylorbooks.”

We asked Brent what he’s looking for in picture books. Here’s what he had to say:

“My picture book taste covers a wide range—I love projects that are lyrical and literary, or commercial, off-the-wall, and fun. I tend to reject picture books that feel derivative and get really excited when I feel like I’ve found a concept or hook that has never, ever been done before. Some of my recent favorites are The Good Egg, Julián Is a Mermaid, My Papi Has a Motorcycle, Dreamers, and Babymoon.”
