Charlotte Wenger of Prospect Agency
A little bit about Charlotte:
Born and raised in Pennsylvania and Virginia, Charlotte Wenger grew up with a bookish, editorial mind but was first drawn to publishing work in college. She then worked for a publishing services company in Philadelphia until shipping up to Boston to earn her MA in Children’s Literature from Simmons. After gaining editorial, sales, and agency experience, she became an associate editor for Page Street Kids, where she loved working with debut talent and building relationships with authors and illustrators. She brings the same mindset to agenting, valuing the developmental and relational work that goes into creating successful stories and fostering long-lasting collaborations. She also serves on the national advisory board of the Mazza Museum, the world’s largest collection of original artwork by children’s book illustrators, and enjoys music and adventuring outdoors in her free time.’
When asked what she’s looking for, Charlotte replied:
“I’m drawn to both silly and ‘serious’ texts, but am looking for a bit more humor these days. I like clever twists and word play as well as stories that have heart without being saccharine or didactic. I’m especially looking for author-illustrators*, including illustrators who are developing their writing toward the goal of author-illustrating. I’m not really looking for rhyming projects at the moment, but I love alliteration and texts that have strong read-aloud potential. I updated my Manuscript Wish List profile at the beginning of 2022, so that’s a great place to reference more specifics.”

Adria Goetz of P.S. Literary Agency
A little bit about Adria:
Adria Goetz is a senior literary agent at PSLA representing picture books, middle grade, adult fiction, and graphic novels. She specializes in picture books by author/illustrators. She graduated from the University of Washington with a Bachelor’s degree in English with a Creative Writing emphasis, as well as the Columbia Publishing Course. She worked at Martin Literary & Media Management before joining the PSLA team. In 2019, she was selected as a Publishers Weekly Star Watch Honoree. Adria has eclectic taste but particularly enjoys projects that are tinged with magic, have so much heart you can practically hear their heartbeat, and have a compelling, commercial hook. She was recently proud to represent THE OCEAN CALLS by Tina Cho, which received four starred reviews and was optioned for an animated special with 9Story Media, and THE WHATIFS by Emily Kilgore which made the shortlist for Barnes & Noble’s 2020 Best Picture Book Award. She was also proud to represent TASTE YOUR WORDS by Bonnie Clark, THE UGLY DOODLES by Valeria Wicker, NO ORDINARY THING by G.Z. Schmidt, HALAL HOT DOGS by Susannah Aziz, and BATTER ROYALE by Leisl Adams, and dozens of others. Adria lives in an old Victorian farmhouse in Washington state with her husband and their two darling dust gray cats, Maple and Mulberry.
When asked what he’s looking for in picture books, Adria replied:
“The three main types of picture books I’m looking for are: magical stories like Lights on Cotton Rock, humor-driven commercial stories like We Don’t Eat Our Classmates, and heart-driven lyrical stories like Eyes that Kiss in the Corners. I’m open to taking a look at anything though! I truly love receiving submissions, and I hope that 12 x 12 members will continue to submit to me outside of this special Featured Agent spotlight.”
