Do You Want to Write 12 Picture Books in 12 Months? | Learn More!

12 x 12 March 2025 Check-In!

April Fool’s! The joke’s on me because I thought it was still March and that this check-in post would be on time. Alas, no…

The GOOD news is, I had a great writing month in March. I took a solo writing retreat up in the mountains and wrote a new draft, plus revised 3 more. That felt great!

HOW ABOUT YOU?

  • Did you complete a draft of a new picture book story in March?
  • Did you complete a revision of a previous picture book manuscript in March?
  • Did you post a review of a 12 x 12 member book on Amazon, GoodReads, or Barnes and Noble?
  • Did you request that your local library purchase a 12 x 12 member’s book that they don’t currently have in circulation?

Let us know in the Rafflecopter and the comments.

We had a slight mix-up in our February Check-in Winner post where we accidentally gave away our March prize. So, our prize this month is a critique of a fiction or non-fiction picture book under 600 words (rhyming is fine) from February Featured Author Anna Ouchchy. Thanks, Anna!

If you haven’t yet, we encourage you to read the inspiring March Featured Author post from long-time 12 x 12 member and debut picture book author Ellen Ramsey here.

  8. Click on the last “Requested your local library purchase a copy of a 12 x 12 member’s book” button. This will ask if you requested your local library to purchase a 12 x 12 member’s picture book. If you did, enter the name of the library and click ENTER. If not, click cancel.
  9. That’s it! There is no overall submit button or email confirmation. Rafflecopter will track your points. (The top of the Rafflecopter will say X/5 with X being the number of entries you currently have in the drawing.)

Here’s a video tutorial on the forum to walk you through these steps: Click here for the monthly check-in tutorial.
