Oh my goodness! I’ve never had a month sneak up on my so badly that I COMPLETELY forgot about the check-in post. And this isn’t even an April Fool’s joke! I’m so sorry. I hope you had a less frenetic month than I did. No new writing, BUT I am meeting one of my critique partners tomorrow morning for a nice long session to get back into it.
What about you? Did you complete a draft and/or revision in March? Did you post a review of a 12 x 12 member book on Amazon, GoodReads, or Barnes and Noble? Let us know in the Rafflecopter and in the comments. March Featured Author Natasha Khan Kazi is offering one lucky 12 x 12 member a non-rhyming picture book critique. Thank you, Natasha!
Here’s what you need to do to check in for a chance to win:
- See the Rafflecopter widget at the end of this post.
- Click on the “Comment on Natasha’s post” button. Commenting on Natasha’s post is mandatory for this giveaway and you can enter the Rafflecopter even if you didn’t write a draft this month. Click ENTER.
- If you haven’t commented on Natasha’s post yet, go to the post here to comment.
- After you’ve commented on Natasha’s post, come back to this post to enter the Rafflecopter. (Commenting won’t enter you in the drawing automatically, you must enter the Rafflecopter by following step 2.)
- Click on the “Wrote a PB Draft” button. This will ask if you completed a PB draft in March. If you did, click ENTER, if not, click cancel and move on to the next step.
- Click on the “Revised a PB Draft” button. This will ask if you revised a PB in March. If you did, click ENTER. If not, click cancel.
- Click on the last “Reviewed a 12 x 12 member’s book” button. This will ask if you reviewed a 12 x 12 member’s PB on Amazon, GoodReads, or Barnes and Noble in March. If you did, enter a link to your review and click ENTER. If not, click cancel.
- That’s it! There is no overall submit button or email confirmation. Rafflecopter will track your points. (The top of the Rafflecopter will say X/4 with X being the number of entries you currently have in the drawing.)
Here’s a video tutorial on the forum to walk you through these steps as well. Click here for the monthly check-in tutorial. (This tutorial features the old 12 x 12 website, but the steps are still the same for entering the Rafflecopter.)
You have until midnight Eastern on April 9th (EXTENDED!) to enter your results. Rafflecopter will draw a winner and it will be announced on the blog on April 10th.
Remember, badges are not awarded automatically and must be requested in the forum. If you haven’t requested your March badges yet, you may do so here.

I’m in the middle of reading a book…will review it for April! But i did write a new draft! AND revised one!
My favorite line in Natasha’s post is:” Success does not happen without the help of others. Supportive mentors and peers are essential to the process.” I agree 100%!
I wrote a new draft. revised a couple, sought feedback, gave feedback, reviewed a couple, and am still trying to come up for air. LOL!
All checked and ready to go full force into the next month.
I am so frustrated. i can’t figure out how to enter the rafflecopter thing. I left a post, but clicking enter does not get me anywhere.
I also don’t see the wrote a pb draft button or the revised a pb draft button. This is frustrating and confusing!
I’m having trouble finding the PB draft button as well.
I have written two manuscripts in the past two months, both have been critiqued by an editor. I joined a critique group in April and submitted the second manuscript from this month with amazing responses and support.
Finally an gent on a third manuscript written last year and received a very supportive response on the same day!
