Boy, it’s a good thing we have those Forum badges! I woke up this morning panicked that I hadn’t written a new draft (I was VERY determined to this month), but then I checked my badges and realized I had! I didn’t revise one this month though, which is very unusual for me and a tad disappointing. But the great thing about the end of one month is that a fresh new month is on the horizon. April, here we come!
Tell us YOUR progress. Did you complete a draft and/or revision in March? Let us know in the Rafflecopter and in the comments. March Featured Author Angela Dalton is giving away a copy of RUBY’S REUNION DAY DINNER! Awesome!
Here’s what you need to do to check in for a chance to win:
- See the Rafflecopter widget at the end of this post.

- Click on the last “Revised a PB Draft” button. This will ask if you revised a PB in March If you did, click ENTER. If not, click cancel.
- That’s it! There is no overall submit button or email confirmation. Rafflecopter will track your points. (The top of the Rafflecopter will say X/3 with X being the number of entries you currently have in the drawing.)
Here’s a video tutorial on the forum to walk you through these steps as well. Click here for the monthly check-in tutorial.
You have until midnight Eastern on April 5th to enter your results. Rafflecopter will draw a winner and it will be announced on the blog on April 6th.
Remember, badges are not awarded automatically and must be requested in the forum. If you haven’t requested your March 2022 badges yet, you may do so HERE. Not sure how to request a badge? Check out this tutorial.

March was busy, and I’m ready to move into a new month. But it feels like 2022 is in a hurry! I wrote a draft and revised in March. Plan to do the same in April!
I often feel like I’m not doing enough. But then, because of this group, I realize I’ve written and revised MULTIPLE drafts this year. So I’m proud of that!
Busy month, but I managed to go through my huge stack of manuscripts and narrow down to my top favorites so I can completely polish them up for submittal. I polished one and in the process of “polishing” another, I started completely rewriting it from a different character’s perspective which I’m very excited about! Far from polished, but much more promising!
I had a pretty good month writing two new drafts and revising one and doing one contest entry. Will need to revise the new drafts but felt good to complete something!
In the first week of March, I actually wrote three drafts. I hope I didn’t shoot my load for the next few months! LOL! Currently revising one of those drafts.
March has actually been a pretty crazy month for me – but I did manage to write and I also revised a few drafts. Even have a few ideas bouncing around in my head!
Is “revision” on the monthly check-in Rafflecopter always for the previous month? I revised in March, but this month’s Rafflecopter only has a February option.
Had fun revising my February draft in March. It’s now resting!
I wrote six drafts at varying levels of refinement in Jan. due to a break in work and Story Stormers. I have been revising these for the past two months. Yesterday I got an R and R so I moved to working on those. I’m glad I didn’t get that on April Fools Day. LOL : )

This time of year always feels so busy! I’m working on a variety of things this month though. Submitting, editing, drafting… whew!
I seem to be working on drafts and finishing them around the end of the month. And this is okay! 🙂 This means I turn the story around in my head the first two weeks, outline the third week and complete a draft the fourth week. My March draft is in better shape than my February draft. Now to figure out how to fit a new April draft and find some time to revise February and March.
How do others juggle multiple stories? I have a big draft to work on in April after getting a “we are interested” email on a nonfiction pb proposal. Perhaps revisions will have to wait until May.
Pinch me because I might have revised two to completion.
Yay, Jill! Have a blast on your hiking adventure!
I am making sure my drafts are page turners. I feel braver in deleting unnecessary words. I have become much more confident in my revising, and the end product reads much better. Thanks 12×12 for a great community of supporters.
Wrote and revised. I’m on a roll even with an extra busy month. Contest deadlines sure help!
March seemed to fly by (literally & figuratively!), but I managed to revise, revise, revise….and write a new draft. Love the contests because I thrive on deadlines.
March has been a windy month and a whirl of activities with challenges to enter writing contests.
March was a busy month! …I’m thrilled to have written one draft but my hats go off for everyone who got more! Way to go! 🙂
I surprised myself by sitting down and writing a draft last week – I thought I needed to do more research, but I was ready to go!
Much to my surprise, March was a very productive month for me. I whipped out two drafts, revised an old one, participated in two writing contests, and queried twice. I’m finding my 12 x12 membership to be very helpful in providing me with quick feedback on whatever writing questions I have. I still have moments where I doubt my abilities, but I feel surrounded by supportive souls who help get me back on track.
I signed up for 12×12 to get better working habits. So far, it is really working. i have several manuscripts and now am going to try to get my butt back into the studio.
March has been full of entering awards, applying for mentorships, entering contests! Keeping busy while querying!
I forgot to comment on this post but I loved the story and have several drafts on this theme for stories from my past and drawing on the ideas. Have shown them in Critique Corner and at RYS. Keep writing your fun stories.
Congrats to everyone for their March work! For me, I figured out how to turn a playful poem I’d written earlier into an active picture book, and had a lot of fun. On we go to April.
Computer is still acting up but I’ve been able to find all but 2 of my missing folders, my Jane Yolen folder and my Authors folder.
I took 2 of my Storystorm ideas and wrote rough drafts of them and then revised 2 old poems and made then into PBs.
Revising, alternate endings, encouragement. Thank you 12X12 and all the critiques gals and gents.
I made progress in March. I came up with a new PB story and revised it.
In March I completed sketches for one of my picture book dummies.
I revised in Feb and March. 🙂
I finished a draft of a new story this month. So grateful for accountability!
Angela Dalton’s book has a superb idea. A child’s mind works this way.
Completed my Draft and also revision. Thanks for the constructive suggestions.
Hi! I wrote a new draft in March. Sorry I’m a day late posting!
I wrote a new manuscript. One that I had been thinking about for over a year now–finally put to paper. Hooray! Now, on to revising. A huge thanks to this 12 x 12 group for keeping me motivated!
