Do You Want to Write 12 Picture Books in 12 Months? | Learn More!

12 x 12 July 2021 Check-In!

Hello, my lovelies! How is your summer going? My mood has been much improved by the long days, warm weather, and ability to be outside. That hasn’t translated to a lot of writing though, because we had my daughter’s graduation celebration and family visiting, etc. etc. BUT, I did go through the contract for my next picture book with my agent recently, and we’re hoping the final will be sent soon. And my editor said that while there will be revisions, overall the manuscript is in great shape!

So, it’s time for me to get busy with writing and revising again. Luckily, I’ll be in Italy for the second half of August. I know the inspiration will overflow, and I can’t wait to dig in!

Tell us YOUR progress. Did you complete a draft and/or revision in July? Let us know in the Rafflecopter and in the comments. July Featured Author Jenna Grodzicki is offering two prizes: a signed copy of HARMONY HUMBOLT: THE PERFECT PETS QUEEN and a signed copy of THE STORY OF PRINCESS DIANA: A BIOGRAPHY BOOK FOR YOUNG READERS!

  1. July came in with a blast of heat and fireworks and it’s ending with the same-LOL Folks are still setting off fireworks!! Not as many fireworks, but enough. I wrote a new draft and revised in July. Hoping these triple digits disappear one day, but I won’t hold my breath. Happy summer y’all! Stay safe!

  2. I love your can do attitude and willingness for adventure without the thought of failure. You are an inspiration to get in the water totally and not just a toe.

  3. This month was slow going as I was still scrambling around looking to hire another home health aid, conducting interviews, etc but I managed to turn an old Storystorm idea into a rough, very rough, draft and began revisions on ANYA, one of my chapter books.

  4. I grew up hearing about Princess Di from my grandmother, who adored her like the rest of the world. It’s neat to read a book written for today’s kids about her. Julie, I love your Colorado pictures on Instagram! So beautiful.

  5. July was a much more productive month than June – new draft with which I have fallen in love, plenty of revisions, and for the first time agent queries! Must have been all the rainy days:)

  6. Looking forward to reading your books, Jenna. I have been dong a lot of writing. Each time I have an idea for a story, I have to stop and write it all done right away! I am quite inspired.

  7. I remember where I was when I heard about Princess Diana’s death. She had a big impact on us girls back in the day. Can’t wait to read your book about her, Jenna!
