Do You Want to Write 12 Picture Books in 12 Months? | Learn More!

12 x 12 February 2023 Check-In!

Hello, everyone! Here we are at the end of February already. Between continuing registration and launching our YouTube channel, I’m afraid I didn’t get a new draft written. I did, however, revise. AND completed my marketing questionnaire for my fall release (which honestly took way longer than a first draft would). So all in all, I am very pleased with my output this month.

What about you? Did you complete a draft and/or revision in February? Did you post a review of a 12 x 12 member book on Amazon, GoodReads, or Barnes and Noble? Let us know in the Rafflecopter and in the comments. February Featured Author Dr. Artika Tyner is offering one lucky 12 x 12 member a signed copy of her book JUSTICE MAKES A DIFFERENCE. Thanks, Artika!

Here’s what you need to do to check in for a chance to win:

  1. See the Rafflecopter widget at the end of this post.
  2. Click on the “Comment on Artika’s post” button. Commenting on Artika’s post is mandatory for this giveaway and you can enter the Rafflecopter even if you didn’t write a draft this month. Click ENTER.
  3. If you haven’t commented on Artika’s post yet, go to the post here to comment.
  4. After you’ve commented on Artika’s post, come back to this post to enter the Rafflecopter.  (Commenting won’t enter you in the drawing automatically, you must enter the Rafflecopter by following step 2.)
  5. Click on the “Wrote a PB Draft” button. This will ask if you completed a PB draft in February. If you did, click ENTER, if not, click cancel and move on to the next step.
  6. Click on the “Revised a PB Draft” button. This will ask if you revised a PB in February.  If you did, click ENTER. If not, click cancel.
  7. Click on the last “Reviewed a 12 x 12 member’s book” button. This will ask if you reviewed a 12 x 12 member’s PB on Amazon, GoodReads, or Barnes and Noble in February.  If you did, enter a link to your review and click ENTER. If not, click cancel.
  8. That’s it! There is no overall submit button or email confirmation. Rafflecopter will track your points. (The top of the Rafflecopter will say X/4 with X being the number of entries you currently have in the drawing.)

Here’s a video tutorial on the forum to walk you through these steps as well. Click here for the monthly check-in tutorial. (This tutorial features the old 12 x 12 website, but the steps are still the same for entering the Rafflecopter.)

You have until midnight Eastern on March 6th to enter your results. Rafflecopter will draw a winner and it will be announced on the blog on March 7th.

Remember, badges are not awarded automatically and must be requested in the forum. If you haven’t requested your February badges yet, you may do so here.

  1. February is a short month and I feel like I am working double time to get everything completed.

  2. It is a short month! I turned around and remembered that I hadn’t checked in for March yet. Was able to do an intensive redraft of my January story, so that felt good.

  3. I am not sure what a rafflecopter is! I did comment but didn’t see the button for wrote a draft for this month.

    1. I’m not sure either, but I wrote a comment somewhere for February, although I think it was on the March Author. Still learning.

  4. I reviewed a PB on Amazon and Teachers Pay Teachers. I also started a rough draft but am struggling to end it. I also revised a PB!

    1. Hi Denise! You don’t have to submit anything for it to count toward your 12 x 12 goal. If you’d like to get feedback, you can post a manuscript in the Full Manuscript section of the forum or you can check out Critique Connect and join a critique group. Congrats on getting so much accomplished!
