Do You Want to Write 12 Picture Books in 12 Months? | Learn More!

12 x 12 August 2023 Check-In!

Given I started this month with COVID and ended it in full-on book promotion mode for SONG AFTER SONG: The Musical Life of Julie Andrews, I am amazed to report that I did, in fact, both revise and write a draft this month. I seized inspiration for the draft, and revised another one so it could go out on sub. Whew! Most months are NOT this productive for me, but I’ll take it!

What about you? Did you complete a draft and/or revision in August? Did you post a review of a 12 x 12 member book on Amazon, GoodReads, or Barnes and Noble? Let us know in the Rafflecopter and in the comments. August Featured Author Donna Cangelosi is offering one lucky 12 x 12 member a picture book critique. Hooray!

Thanks, Donna!

Here’s what you need to do to check in for a chance to win:

  8. That’s it! There is no overall submit button or email confirmation. Rafflecopter will track your points. (The top of the Rafflecopter will say X/4 with X being the number of entries you currently have in the drawing.)

Here’s a video tutorial on the forum to walk you through these steps as well. Click here for the monthly check-in tutorial. (This tutorial features the old 12 x 12 website, but the steps are still the same for entering the Rafflecopter.)

You have until midnight Eastern on September 7th to enter your results. Rafflecopter will draw a winner and it will be announced on the blog on September 8th.

Remember, badges are not awarded automatically and must be requested in the forum. If you haven’t requested your August badges yet, you may do so here.

  1. August flew by but with the hot days keeping me inside, I was able to revise and write a new draft. I can’t believe how fast time flies when the days are full of multi-tasking. Keeping up with all the chats and podcasts is a challenge in itself.

  2. I have to do clock hours to retain my credential. So far, I have been able to take courses through UCSD extension that “count” but also enable me to improve my chosen crafts of writing and illustrating. My most recent 9-week course resulted in two wordless picture book dummies. With a bit more revision, I will have two more stories to bring to full development. Yea!
