Do You Want to Write 12 Picture Books in 12 Months? | Learn More!

12 x 12 August 2020 Check-In!

Hi everyone! All I can say is I hope your August was more productive than mine. Also, how did we get to the end of another month? I had to go into the Forum to check my badges to see if I’d done anything this month, only to discover that I had not (which is what I suspected). LOL! Hoping to get back in the saddle in September!

Tell us your progress. Did you complete a draft and/or revision in August? Let us know in the Rafflecopter and in the comments. August Featured Author Vicky Fang is offering one lucky 12 x 12 member the choice of both Layla and the Bots middle grade books or a copy of her picture book Invent-a-Pet!

Thank you, Vicky!

Here is what you need to do to check in for a chance to win:

  1. See the Rafflecopter widget at the end of this post that says “A Book from Vicky Fang” at the top.
  2. Click on the “Comment on Vicky’s post” button. Commenting on Vicky’s post is mandatory for this giveaway and you can enter the Rafflecopter even if you didn’t write a draft this month. You can comment on the post here.  Click ENTER.
  3. Click on the “Wrote a PB Draft” button. This will ask if you completed a PB draft in August. If you did, click ENTER, if not, click cancel and move on to the next step.
  4. Click on the last “Revised a PB Draft” button. This will ask if you revised a PB in August. If you did, click ENTER. If not, click cancel and move on to the next step.
  5. That’s it! Rafflecopter will track your points. (The top of the Rafflecopter will say X/3 with X being the number of entries you currently have in the drawing.)

You have until midnight Eastern on September 5th to enter your results. Rafflecopter will draw a winner and it will be announced on the blog on August 6th.

Remember, badges are not awarded automatically and must requested in the forum. Click here to request your August badge on the forum.

Time to fall into your September draft!

    1. I had to click on the Comment on Vicky’s post first (in the Rafflecopter). Then the others popped up.

  1. What a month! Each month seems to be filled with something new and unusual… I am happy to say I revised a fractured fairy tale I am working on (though many words need to disappear) and I wrote a very horrible first draft about saving a baby goldfinch. I’m already thinking of how I need to revise that one! Happy August everyone!

  2. I researched and revised in August. I had some draft ideas, but they didn’t get out of my noggin 🙂 I’m moving forward with classes, webinar, and writing!

  3. August was a tough month with hot weather and political upheavals. It is hard to concentrate under all the things going on. Hopefully this will all disappear one of these days and we will start the new normal.

  4. Most of this month has been webinars, but I’ve been challenging myself to do more “fast, bad” writing to try and get around my habit of editing before I even get the words down. This month it resulted in a draft, so yay!
